Our Corporate Partners

Our Corporate companies are vital to our Club programs by aiding our program services with member engagement, time and financial resources.

Engagement Opportunities

Be a part of an organization that is positively impacting and transforming the communities surrounding us by choosing to get involved.

Give

The Boys & Girls Club of Whittier depends on generous financial contributions, employee matching gift or goods and services from individuals and corporations in our community to fund our diverse programs and operations.

Sponsor

By Sponsoring your Volunteer Day, a special event, program or your time, you are ensuring high-quality programs and making an impact on our youth.

Volunteer

Our Volunteers have the opportunity to volunteer on a one time or reoccurring bases. Volunteers can choose from our many areas such as our daily programs at the Club, special events, and projects.

Mentor Program

Elementary age members who are at-risk for falling behind in school are selected to be paired with a mentor as part of our Be Great: Graduate program, in which their ABC’s (Attendance, Behavior, and Class performance) are tracked. Adult mentors commit to meeting with their mentee for one hour each week to spend some time working on homework, then having fun around the Club- playing games, shooting hoops, or even baking cookies in the kitchen! Mentors act as a caring adult and role model in a child’s life. As one of our most valuable programs, we always need volunteers, especially minority males.

Club Programming

Do you enjoy or have a special talent in a specific area… maybe sports, science, tutoring, or music? Our program staff members can always use an extra pair of hands – whether one time or on a regular basis – to help out as we offer enriching and engaging activities to our members.

Special Events

We hold several fundraising and special events throughout the year to support the Club: a Gala Auction, an elegant Wine Dinner, a Golf Tournament, and a Youth of the Year awards event. Volunteers are always needed to help set up in advance and with various tasks during the event itself.

Thanksgiving Feast

Each November a few days before Thanksgiving, Club staff and volunteers come together to serve a full Thanksgiving feast to hundreds of our members and their families. Assistance is needed in donating and cooking turkeys, setting up for the dinner, and serving food.

Operation Christmas

400 of our neediest members are selected to receive a book and a pair of shoes for Christmas, while toys are collected in donation bins throughout the community. At a large pancake breakfast in mid-December, Santa makes an appearance and we distribute the gifts to these members and their families. Volunteers are needed to donate shoes and books as well as to serve breakfast to families.

Teen Workforce Prep

As we expand our Workforce Development Initiative to prepare our teen members for the workforce, we are seeking to build community relationships with professionals in a variety of different fields. As a professional in the greater Whittier community, you can help our teens in several ways: by giving a presentation at the Teen Center about a specific field or career path and answer any questions; by offering workplace tours and job shadowing; or offering internship opportunities for our teen members.
