These programs help youth create aspirations for the future, providing opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.

Career LaunchCareer Launch CareerLaunch

CareerLaunchTM is a career exploration and mentoring program for teens ages 13-18. This program includes the CareerLaunch web site that allows teens to take an interest survey, explore careers, identify training or college requirements, seek out financial aid and play skills-building games. There's also an easy-to-use Career Exploration Quick Reference Guide with a broad range of career planning and job skills activities that Club staff or volunteers can use with teens. The CareerLaunch Portfolio contains a Teen Tips booklet with helpful interviewing and on-the-spot job tips.


College Bound
 
College Bound is a year-round program that targets all middle and high school Club members.  It is designed to assist and guide students through the college preparation and application process.  Ultimately, the goal of the College Bound Program is to guide our youth to meet academic, financial, and testing requirements for the UC and Cal State system, as well as for community colleges and private universities.


Vocational Directions
 
Vocational Directions is a program designed to prepare our Club members for jobs that are based in manual, technical, or practical activities, traditionally non-academic, and totally related to a specific trade.  Through this program, members explore the opportunities available to them through a variety of programs such as Tri-Cities Regional Occupational Program and Whittier Adult School.


Career LaunchMoney Matters Money Matters: Make It Count

This financial literacy program is designed specifically to help teens (ages 13 to18) expand their knowledge of money management and learn the skills that lead to financial independence and well-being.


Career LaunchPower Hour Power Hour: Making Minutes Count

A comprehensive homework help and tutoring program, POWER HOUR is designed to raise the academic proficiency of Club members ages 7 to12.  This is a mandatory activity during the school year.


Career LaunchClubtech Club Tech

Club Tech offers access to technology that helps level the virtual playing field by providing our teenagers with the resources and skills necessary to help them perform better in school, and eventually the workplace. One of the most dynamic components of Club Tech is our Digital Arts Suite, which are five interactive tutorials that teach members the basics of a particular creative digital skill, laying a foundation to progress to a more advanced skill level. Web Tech teaches the basics of Web site development and design; Design Tech instructs on the fundamentals of graphic design and desktop publishing; Photo Tech schools youth in digital photography and photo manipulation; Movie Tech coaches’ scriptwriting and digital movie-making skills; and Music Tech introduces youth to electronic music production.
