PROGRAMS

Academic Achievement

Students are engaged daily in curriculum that combines fun lesson plans with Project Based Learning (PBL). PBL helps students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to research and answer a complex question, problem, or challenge. Students use science, technology, engineering, mathematics, art, writing, and reading to investigate and respond to the challenge.

Physical Activities

Every day, the members are required to participate in one (1) hour of physical activity. These recreational activities are strategically planned by incorporating CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) program to get involved. CATCH is the most proven program to prevent childhood obesity and launch kids and communities toward healthier lifestyles.

Power Hour

Power Hour is a comprehensive homework help and tutoring program for all members. In the homework assistance program, a staff oversees a group of members who are working to complete their daily homework assignments. The program encourages homework completion and staff keeps track of members progress. In some instances, additional tutors are recruited to work with individual members on a one-on-one basis.

Leaders In Training (LIT) Program

The LIT Program is designed to encourage members to learn the virtue of handling responsibility, self-discipline, and teamwork by assisting our young Club members, lead recreational activities, and provide additional support to staff. LIT members gain valuable work experience and explore educational and career opportunities through personal guidance and career development workshops.

Smart Girls

SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips, and mentor opportunities with adult women. Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care, and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
